Upstride collaborated with a collective of local councils and organisations in Melbourne’s western suburbs to design and launch the One, Two, Tree campaign.
The campaign tackled Melbourne's urban heat island effect by encouraging homeowners to plant trees in their local communities and improve urban green spaces.
What we did
We developed a multifaceted communications strategy to boost awareness and encourage residents to plant trees. Our campaign plan included practical videos, engaging print and digital resources, and community-focused activities, providing residents with easy-to-follow guides and visually appealing materials.
VIDEO PRODUCTION
We produced a series of 10 practical videos that provided step-by-step guidance on tree planting, and the benefits of increasing green cover. These videos were designed to be accessible and informative for all residents.
PRINT AND DIGITAL RESOURCES
We created a range of resources including infographics, practical visuals, and detailed guides on the Top 10 trees to plant in Melbourne’s west. These resources helped residents choose suitable trees based on their yard size and provided essential planting information.
CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT
We partnered with local creative talent to design animations, artwork and printable activities. One highlight was the development of colour-in bird crowns for children, which aimed to make the campaign fun and engaging for families.
